State Annual Singing Convention Participants:
The Board of Directors welcomes you to participate in the 88th State
Annual Singing Convention beginning on Friday night, June 20,
and continuing through Sunday afternoon June 22, 2008. We are
reminding you of the exciting changes in the format that were
implement last year and will continue with the upcoming State Annual
Singing Convention.
The
biggest change is that we now have only one day of competition
and this will be on Saturday, June 21, 2008.
After the competition on Saturday afternoon, the Brian Free
and Assurance
will perform, beginning at approximately 7:30 p.m. The grand finale
for this special competition will be the presentation of trophies to
the winners in each category, along with the presentation of the
Consolation Trophy and the Grand Trophy. These presentations are
the highlight of this special event.
A second
change is the addition of a Sunday Showcase of Winners.
Each winner from the Saturday competition will return to the
"Showcase" on
Sunday and
will be ask to
present 2 songs with a Testimony, if they wish, between the songs. This event will take place Sunday afternoon
following our Memorial Service which will begin at approximately
1:45 p.m. Triumphant Quartet will be in concert immediately after the
Showcase of Winners.
The final change in our competition was the consolidation of our
Junior Groups into one category.
All juniors - duets, trios, quartets, families and choirs will
compete in one division and only one winner from this category will
receive a trophy. These participants must be 15 years old and
under.
Kane Creek Recording Studio will present two recording sessions at
this year’s Sing.
One will be given to the Grand Trophy Winners
of the Saturday competition and the second session will be presented
to the winner of a drawing in which all participants of the
competition are included.
